In addition to staining and sealing the face and doors of bulkhead #2, Ed also put additional resin on the deck, filling the slight weave of the cloth and shaped the pedestal underneath the console.

Strips of balsa were attached to the side of the hull for clips to be installed to hold things (i.e. – gaff, wash down brush, etc) and a plate was cut to go on the pedestal so that the console can be fastened to it.
