While Ed and Keith were getting the material to cover the deck, Travis picked up the grinder and went to work, rounding the top edge of the sheer. After vacuuming up the metric ton (a slight exaggeration) Ed and Keith returned with the roll of 50″ wide 17-08 biaxle cloth. While Ed was positing the forward deck, Keith and Travis laid out the remainder of the roll along the starboard wash rail and cut it to fit, with the port side done in the same fashion. The left-over material was rolled up and stored for another time.

Rolled back and ready to go
With the deck hot coated we didn’t have to worry about the plywood drawing the resin out of the fiberglass and we could work along at a good pace. With Keith rolling out resin, Ed and Travis were bubble busting. The end result was a single wet edge that went from the aft starboard corner, around the bow to the aft port corner.

Clearly a good outer skin
