As the wind blows, the temperature plummets.  And as a direct result the catalyzation process that resin goes through, which both produces heat and is propelled by heat, slows to a crawl.  A very slow crawl.  Therefore we had quite a sticky situation upon entering Shop2 this morning.

Enter the Beast and the little heater that could.

The little heater that could

(yes, it’s actually on)

Between the two 150,000 btus brought the temperature up to a proper range for curing the fiberglass.  While the heaters were doing their thing, the fiberglass was cut for the work platform.  The stringer material was ripped and set in the hull.  After modifying the stringers some to incorporate the bulkhead for a forward storage locker they were shimmed in place.  Ample pitch was figured into the work platform that should work out well when Valkyrie is left on her mooring.  The stringers were also toed-in towards the bow which should add some focused strength to the hull.  The stringers were tabbed in place and left to cure.
