Well we hope that everyone made it through the holiday season unscathed for the most part. All the wrapping paper picked up and the toy boxes put away.
The new year quickly approaches and we just had to work on our project. Now that the hull was fully glassed it was the perfect time to apply some more Rage to the exterior, filling the weave of the material and making those graceful curves along the bow and sheer that makes a boat what it is: a floating work of art. Applying liberal amounts of Rage along the keel and drawing them down to the sheer was working out better than expected, making the work move along quickly.

Another gallon of material used up, but a very nice final product.

Filled and ready for final shaping
While the Rage was setting up we took the opportunity to check out the console unit that was selected for this project.
Ed wanted a rugged, low maintenance console that was easy to clean after a hard days work. What we got from Wise fits the bill perfectly. Made of white plastic it will not rot, will be easy to clean, and even has places to put some frosty beverages. However, the first thing we did was take it apart.

Step one: Take it apart
To access the interior of the console it is necessary to remove the screws holding the netting in place, as well as the screws holding the padded panel.

Easy access
Now that the inside is accessible, it’s time to think about where to put everything.
Have a happy new year everyone.
