Today is the day.  No way around it.  The stem needs a shave.  Square sides don’t lend themselves very well to becoming a nice graceful bow.  And there isn’t enough time left in the day to whittle away with a spokeshave.  Out comes the Milwaukee 28V Skill Saw.  Two passes later, the majority of the work is done.  Now to finish by hand.

Now that the stem had been shaped, it was time to start planking.  Using all full length strips, the sheer strips left with a square edge, the shape has been cast and left to cure during the night.
